Madison, TN: On the Rise?
Lee
February 2018
As experts in the Nashville area rental property investment market, we stay abreast of “districts” (or parts of town) undergoing change. Omni has witnessed first hand Germantown/Salemtown go from dangerous after dark to multi-million dollar real estate seemingly overnight. East Nashville transitioned from “cool but spotty” to today’s most demand location in the downtown periphery. Inglewood moved from affordable to not so much within 24 months. So is it Madison’s turn now? We have been paying close attention to this area and have held a strong belief for a long time that Madison will have its day. Well, it may be closer than we thought. The owners of Madison Sqaure Shopping Center, a vanilla and aging strip center, have sought rezoning of the property. The new zoning would allow for true mixed use including retail, mid-rise office, entertainment, and housing. Some liken the vision to the next Green Hills. Morphing into a “Town Center” this could be just what Madison needs. See the article by the Tennessean with much more detail here.
